As of July 8, 2026, IDES will no longer send benefit payments via paper check. You may select direct deposit or debit card as your method for receiving benefit payments. If you were receiving paper checks, you will be switched over to debit card payments unless you choose to enroll in direct deposit.

Veteran Services

Assisting veterans in finding family sustaining and meaningful employment is a top priority at IDES. The American Job Center staff provide veterans with priority of service for employment services (does not apply to unemployment insurance). In addition, Illinois has over 30 American Job Centers and offices located throughout Illinois that provide a full array of employment focused services to assist veterans. Training services are available through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act partners that are collocated at each American Job Center.

  • Veterans can search for jobs online at IllinoisJobLink.com.
    • Set up a free account and learn how to use Illinois JobLink to create a resume, search for job openings, and apply to job opportunities.
