Report to General Assembly 9.29.2025

Honorable Members of the General Assembly:

The Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES) is providing this report in accordance with the State Entities Single-Use Plastic Reporting Act, 30 ILCS 567/10(b).  According to IDES records, since July 1, 2024, IDES did not purchase any single-use plastic disposable foodware that was less than $2,000 or otherwise not reduced to writing.  IDES remains committed to the goal of limiting the purchase of single-use disposable foodware and updated its written policies to: (1) prohibit the procurement of single-use plastic disposable foodware; and (2) prohibit the purchase of disposable food service containers that are composed in whole or in part from polystyrene foam.

Sincerely,

s/ Kevin Lovellette
