As of July 8, 2026, IDES will no longer send benefit payments via paper check.  You may select direct deposit or debit card as your method for receiving benefit payments.  If you were receiving paper checks, you will be switched over to debit card payments unless you choose to enroll in direct deposit.

Legal Services Program

IDES contracts with private law firms to provide free legal services (consultation and/or representation at IDES administrative hearings) to claimants and small employers who are eligible. These independent law firms are not part of IDES. Representation at your hearing is not automatic and depends, in part, upon the facts in your case.​
