Possible online services disruption due to Internet related outage

A worldwide technology outage is causing disruption to some State of Illinois online systems.  We are aware of this issue and are diligently working on restoration.

IDES offices will be closed Monday, October 14 for the federal holiday, but you can still certify and apply for benefits and access other online resources!  Please note that benefit payments may take longer to process during this time.  Offices will reopen for regular business hours on Tuesday, October 15.

Tax Credit Programs

Overview

Employers that hire economically disadvantaged workers may receive federal tax credits of up to $2,400 for short-term welfare recipients, and ex-felons under the Work Opportunity Tax Credit program (WOTC) or up to $9,000 over a two-year period for long-term public assistance recipients. The credit can be as high as $9,600 per veteran for for-profit employers or up to $6,240 for tax-exempt organizations.
