Chicago-Naperville-Arlington Heights Metropolitan Division

The Chicago-Naperville-Arlington Heights, IL Metropolitan Division includes Cook, DuPage, Grundy, Kendall, McHenry and Will Counties and replaces the eight-county Chicago-Joliet-Naperville Metropolitan Division.

The Chicago-Naperville-Elgin IL-IN-WI Metropolitan Statistical Area includes the Chicago-Naperville-Arlington Heights Metropolitan Division, the Elgin, IL Metropolitan Division, the Lake County-Kenosha County IL-WI Metropolitan Division and Gary, IN Metropolitan Division.

Not seasonally adjusted unemployment rates for the Elgin, IL Metropolitan Division, the Lake County-Kenosha County IL-WI Metropolitan Division and the Chicago-Joliet-Naperville IL-IN-WI Metropolitan Statistical Area will be available at the DES LAUS page the day of the IDES local area news release (usually one week after the release of Illinois and Chicago-Naperville-Arlington Heights Metropolitan Division data).

Unemployment rates for the Gary, IN Metropolitan Division may be obtained from either the State of Indiana http://www.hoosierdata.in.gov or the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Web site http://www.bls.gov/lau.

The introduction of the Chicago-Naperville-Arlington Heights Metropolitan Division was announced in February 2013 by the U.S. Office of Management and Budget in OMB Bulletin No. 13-01.
