Possible online services disruption due to Internet related outage
Local Employment Dynamics
Local Employment Dynamics (LED), a partnership between the Illinois Department of Employment Security and the U. S. Census Bureau, links employer and household data. LED products deliver dynamic information on workers, employers, and jobs by combining states’ Unemployment Insurance earnings data, the Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages, U. S. Census Bureau administrative data, and data from censuses and surveys. Uses of the linked jobs data are far-reaching for unraveling important economic questions and for the provision of new statistical products. The identities of Individuals and businesses are protected against disclosure in accord with strict state and federal requirements.
Quarterly Workforce Indicators
Quarterly Workforce Indicators (QWI) is a set of 32 measures of employment flows, such as employment, job creation, and earnings. QWIs report detailed firm characteristics (geography, industry, age, size) and worker demographics information (sex, age, education, race, or ethnicity). An introduction to QWIs, including descriptions of popular measures, is available.
QWI Explorer is a web-based tool that provides access to the full depth and breadth of QWI data. Through charts and interactive tables, users can compare, rank and aggregate QWIs across time, geography, and/or firm and worker characteristics on the fly. Results are provided in interactive visualizations and synchronized charts and tables. An Introduction to QWI Explorer is available. QWI Explorer is a major improvement in terms of functionality and ease of use over two older tools, QWI Online and Industry Focus. Those older tools were decommissioned by the Census Bureau in September 2014.
OnTheMap
OnTheMap (OTM) is an interactive online mapping application that shows where workers are employed and where they live, with optional filtering by age, earnings, or industry groups. It provides companion reports on worker characteristics, and it provides an easy-to-use interface for creating, viewing, printing and downloading workforce related maps, profiles, and underlying data. An introduction to OnTheMap is available.
OnTheMap for Emergency Management provides real time access to U.S. population and workforce statistics for areas being affected by natural disasters. It allows users to easily retrieve reports containing detailed workforce, population, and housing characteristics for hurricanes, floods, wildfires, winter storms, and federal disaster declaration areas. An introduction to OnTheMap for Emergency Management is available.
